Adesola Yaqub

Adesola Yaqub is an IT/Telecoms professional, a leadership development coach and a politician. He is a graduate of the prestigious University of Jos, Jos, Nigeria, where he obtained a bachelor's degree in mathematics. He is a graduate of the Cisco Systems Networking Academy, a Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional (MCITP), with about two decades of industry experience in the ICT/Telecoms sector of the Nigerian economic space, capping it with a MSc in computer science, majoring in networking and information security, from the Nasarawa State University.

He has great love for humanitarian services, politics, leadership, human capital development and community development. He has attended series of seminars and conferences on leadership, capacity building, public speaking and social enterprise. He believes that in investing in education and in empowering the youth, this generation has all it takes to take humanity out of the wilderness of bad leadership, poverty, environmental degradation and all other ills confronting humanity.

In 2014, he emerged as the best speaker in the GOTNI Annual Emerging Leaders' Conference (ELC) and in 2015, he aspired to occupy his constituency's seat in the Oyo State House of Assembly, South-West Nigeria and he was a member of the #BringBackOurGirls (BBOG) Advocacy Group. He was also the candidate and flagbearer of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for his constituency into the Oyo State House of Assembly at the 2019 general elections. In September 2019 he was appointed the Personal Assistant (P.A) to the Deputy Governor of Oyo State. In December 2019, he was appointed as the Caretaker Chairman of Oorelope Local Government, Igboho, Oyo State, Southwest Nigeria, where he manifested the uniqueness of his capacity in leadership and service delivery in public service.

Yaqub is a Toastmasters' certified competent communicator (CC). He is an alumnus of the Daystar Leadership Academy (DLA) under the mentorship of Pastor Sam Adeyemi. He is a graduate of the African Centre for Leadership, Strategy and Development (Centre LSD) Abuja, Nigeria. Adesola Yaqub is also a proud graduate of the School of Politics, Policy and Governance (SPPG), the 100x Impact Accelerator Academy, powered by the London School of Business, raising high quality African politicians and public leaders by strengthening their character, competence and capacity.

He was a member of the 2023 APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) and he played a pivotal role in the operations of the Tinubu/Shettima Grassroots Independent Campaign Council (TSGICC) that drove the electoral victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In 2024, he was appointed DG of the Oorelope Local Government APC Campaign Council for the Oyo State Local Government Elections. He is a grassroots mobilizer and a change agent.

Yaqub has been appointed as the Director General (DG) of the South, West, East North of Nigeria (SOWENON) Coordinated Initiative, to drive the organization for strategic reform and transformative impact.
